The newly-christened Kirishima (his stablemaster's former shikona) had a fantastic first three basho of 2023, and he is now our newest Ozeki. The former Kiribayama's 11-4 in May wasn't a world-beating record, but it's Ozeki material and he seems to have found a new level to his sumo thanks to consistency and focus. He is certainly on the shotlist of contenders for the Yusho.
